Assistant Principals

Renee Rohlfs

I’m proud to be starting my 18th year at De Zavala Middle School, a place that truly feels like home. I spent the first 10 years of my career here as a reading teacher, helping students discover the power and joy of literacy. After that, I served as an instructional coach for four years, supporting teachers and working to strengthen instructional practices across campus. In 2022, I was honored to become one of De Zavala’s Assistant Principals, a role that allows me to continue serving our incredible students and staff in new and meaningful ways.

I love this community and am passionate about helping our students become the very best version of themselves. It brings me so much joy to see siblings and even children of former students walking our halls, it’s a beautiful reminder of the lasting relationships built over the years. De Zavala is more than just a school to me; it’s part of my family. I’m excited to see what the future holds. Go Lobos!

I am truly honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at De Zavala Middle School, a community that I grew up in. It is a privilege to advocate for our students and families, ensuring that each child feels welcomed and safe on our campus. My mission is to create an environment where every student feels like a cherished member of our school family.

I am equally passionate about fostering family engagement and encourage parents to actively participate in their child's educational journey. Together, we can build strong partnerships that enhance the learning experience for all our students.

I am excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to collaborating with all families. Remember, Lobos Lead the Pack!
